About Us
Sam (Sia) began his journey in the home construction industry in the early 1990s, quickly excelling in the field. He earned a promotion to Project Manager and became the right-hand man to the President of a general contracting company. When the company relocated to Southern California, Sam was encouraged to lead their efforts in the region. However, by then, he had developed a deep passion for design and the art world, sparking a shift in his career focus.
Captivated by the creative potential in the color and design aspects of home interiors and exteriors, Sam decided to pursue formal education in Graphic and Industrial Design. He also took courses in Associate Science of Architecture to expand his expertise. While studying, Sam entered the graphic design industry, quickly mastering the art of color, design, and visual aesthetics.
In his spare time, he combined his construction knowledge with his design skills, remodeling and flipping small cottages and houses in the Bay Area. By 2005, Sam had designed and remodeled numerous homes, becoming an expert in construction management and navigating city planning processes, including permits and approvals.
The 2008 housing market crash prompted Sam to rely more heavily on his design skills. Recently, he returned to his true passion—merging graphic and industrial design with architecture. This unique combination of skills forms the foundation of PIXEL DESIGN AND BUILD, setting it apart from others in the industry.
